Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line

Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) is a type of DSL broadband Internet which offers different maximum download and upload rates.

Symmetrical DSL (SDSL) offers equal speeds for data transfer.

DSL technology enables data transmission through copper telephone lines and not a cable modem.

ADSL speeds are skewed towards downloads, with average ADSL download speeds at 3Mbps and upload speeds of just 512Kbps.
