Looking for an ob-gyn? Here’s where to start:

  • Ask your primary care doctor or other health care professional for recommendations

  • Ask your friends and family about their experiences with their ob-gyns

  • Look for the “find a doctor” tool at the website of your health insurance plan or call the number on the back of your insurance card

  • Look for a “find a doctor” tool on the website of your local hospital

  • Use theMedicare website to find and compare doctors near you

Once you have names of doctors who seem promising, you can use the internet to learn about their education and qualifications. You can also call their offices with questions and ask whether they accept your insurance.
