This study presents, discusses and assesses the findings of a research into All-day School (AS) and All-day Primary School (APS) institutions and the teacher's role in them in Greece. The AS in kindergarten and primary school emphasizes the children's process of development and learning, is flexible to shape the curriculum, prepares children for the next day's lessons, thus pedagogically utilizing students' free time; it helps change the pedagogical climate, develops new forms of teaching and is considered educational innovation. As far as the participants of the present research is concerned, it is made up of 22 Primary School teachers who worked in the APS in the past. The criteria for their selection were gender, years of service in Primary Education and whether they had worked in an APS. In terms of gender, the men who participated in the research were 9 and the women were 13. According to the teachers, the APS was established having the best standards. Teachers seem to support the institution and recognize the important role it can play in the students' all-round development. However, the problems that arise are many and teachers have been trying to do their utmost with the few resources available and the absence of the State. The State must ensure that the APS will find its place in the education system and will play its social and pedagogical role.

This qualitative study investigated the psycho-emotional effects of extra lessons among urban day secondary school learners in Chegutu, Zimbabwe. In-depth interviews, focus group discussions and document analysis was adopted to generate data from teachers, school inspectors, parents and learners. Results from the study show that participants expressed mixed feelings on the psychological and emotional roles of attending extra lessons learners. Some participants credited extra lessons for their confidence building among the learners, before going into a test or examination. Others viewed extra lessons as a source of depression among learners and strained learners physically because most of the time they were busy. The study recommended that extra lessons needed to be continued but under the guidance of the teachers and parents. Since learners had their morale boosted before taking a test or examination, learners need to continue getting involved in extra lessons.

This article presents an analysis from the theoretical point of view on the evolution of the concept of Social Education. In order to do so, it evaluates the interdisciplinary characteristics involved in this proposal of engagement with society, elucidating and clarifying the governmental and non-governmental initiatives directed to the health area in Brazil, especially regarding the work developed by Community Health Agents as educators through a program of actions and procedures ensured by the implementation of the Family Health Program. As the work carried out by the groups of assistance to the populations, especially the less favored ones, is a set of activities interconnected and supported in each other, it is possible to follow the chain of each task force, whose purpose is to contribute to the well-being and promoting the quality of life throughout all Brazilian territory.

The case study seeks to explore the issue of parental involvement /intervention in the primary and secondary teachers' work in Greece, in order to both the cases which contribute to a favorable and pleasant school climate that effectively helps the teachers' work and the problems and difficulties that do not contribute positively to the work of the teacher and the school unit in general to be identified. For the conduct of this study, twenty five postgraduate students who are simultaneously teachers were recruited. As a research tool written texts were used, while the texts were analyzed by the qualitative content analysis. Overall, findings indicated that Greek parents are most of the times involved in the teachers' work and in school units in general wrongfully, without having the appropriate and adequate pedagogical knowledge, while, on the other hand, teachers behave appropriately, from a pedagogical stance, as they deal with the parental involvement.

The results of the study indicated that children have difficulties in feeding, clothing/footwear, in participating in school activities (e.g., excursions, museum visits) and extra-curricular activities (e.g., foreign language classes, dance lessons), and in buying the necessary school material. Regarding the effects of economic crisis on the function of schools, they mostly have to do with the renewal of technological equipment and building maintenance. Simultaneously, the results revealed that teachers' practices that seem to be more common among school units are the reduction in student stationery and materials, the implementations of education programs offering students emotional support the collaboration with other organizations, such as the Municipality, Church, social groceries, and the frequent contact with the Parents' Association of the school unit. The results of the study are further discussed, while future research is suggested.

In today’s world, the Internet is an environment where nearly any information can be got at any time, on
anywhere and in desired detail. The aim of the research is to determine the areas and duration of teachers’
Internet use. With this aim in mind, using a descriptive survey pattern, a data collecting tool, developed by the
researchers and 4-item targetting to determine participant teachers’ personal characterteristics, 18-item for the
areas and duration of their Internet use, was administered to the participant teachers working in the city of
Malatya, Turkey. The data gathered from 433 volunteer teachers filling the survey were analysed using Chi-
Square Test. Teachers state that they use Internet for 1-2 hours on daily average; mostly visit news and
newspaper and school procedures web sites, least visit erotic web sites. With the professional support of national
ministry of education, teacher-friendly websites should be created to contribute to the personal and professional
development of teachers.
