Receiving Roman Law in Glagolithical Script: Notarial Protocol of the 1621 Arbitration of Mošćenice Based on Roman Law (Dispute Resolution)

Zbornik Pravnog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Rijeci, 2020

Izvorni znanstveni rad Sažetak Zapisnik Petra Lazarića, domaćega bilježnika i kanonika potječe iz 1621. iz Mošćenica. Svi bitni pravni elementi ovoga diplomatičkog izvora odražavaju snažne odjeke tradicije rimskoga prava i ius commune. Autor u dva rada analizira sve relevantne institute primijenjene u arbitraži i postupovne i materijalnopravne, povezujući ih s rimskim i kanonskim pravnim uzorima.

Mateo Žagar, Vesna Badurina Stipčević, Kristian Paskojević, Londonski odlomak glagoljskoga brevijara o svetoj Apoloniji – prilog tekstološkom, paleografskom i jezičnom opisu / London fragment of the St. Apollonia Breviary, Slovo 71 (2021), 191-24o.

Slovo, 2020

This single large leaf of a monumental Croatian breviary with part of the reading for the Feast of St. Apollonia served for centuries as a cover for the printed book De Medendis Febribus ars medica (1526), written by Antonio Alta ab Altomario, a Neapolitan physician and philosopher. This text came to the attention of the scholarly and general public only after an auction held in London in 2017. The conducted research aims to process this unpublished material pala- eographically and linguistically. In terms of content, but also considering the transliterations of the text, a comparison was made with the Latin version of the legend. The palaeographic analysis is based on a comparison with the Second Beram Breviary, and the focus is on the peculiarity of the methodology: an intensive palaeographic and linguistic description of a small corpus from a varied and unstabilized individual manuscript.

Manuscript works of Sheikh Jujo in Gazi Huserv-bey's library

1985

Sheikh Yuyo, by the manuscripts of his works preserved up to now, can be classed among the best-known scholars from Bosnia and Herzegovina that composed their writings in the oriental languages (Arabic, Turkish, Persian) during the Turkish Empire. His works from different fields of Science make him belong to the scholars well known in the whole Empire in the second part of 17th and at the beginning of 18th century. The greater number of his works, written mostly in the Arbic language, are being kept in Gazi Husref Bey Library in Sarajevo. Out of 26 of those manuscripts, 13 are authographs, which shows that it is impossible to bypass this Library when the studies of and the research into Sheikh Yuyo's works are in question. The more so since some of his manuscripts are available only this library.

TAFSIR AND QIRA'AT IMPLICATIONS OF THE 233rd AYAT OF SURAH AL-BEQARAH

Zbornik radova 18, 2020

Islam emphasizes the importance of marriage which is a prerequisite for forming a healthy family which, then, presents the foundation, the pillar, the basis of every society. Thus, marriage has a special place in Islam. However, it can also be exposed to various challenges and temptations which, ultimately, can disrupt relationships within the marriage. Unfortunately, we live in an age when divorces are becoming more and more common. Of particular concern is the attitude of believers towards divorce regulations. There are numerous men and women who, after marital disagreements, disregard the Shariah law and do injustice to both the spouse and the children. Qira'ats, as a published component of the Qur'anic text, played an important role in the theoretical specification of the Shariah norms contained in the text of the Qur'an. Also, they had a great influence on the establishment of methodological and legal principles by which they were derived. Although they differ in fo...

Derviš-pasha Bajezidagić and his work “Zubdetu’l Es’ar’’

2007

In this short work we shall try, by using the autobiographical poetry of Dervis-pasha Bajazidagic, to point out on Dervis-pasha as a poet and Bosnian beglerbey. Further we will turn attention to one of Bajazidagic’s works, which is now unknown in bosnian-herzegovinia literary history. The work is entitled “Zubdetu’l-Es’ar’’ (manuscript: Topkapi Saray Muzesim Kpt. REVAN – No. 824), which was presented to the public by Karatay, in his Catalogue, wrongly attributed to Saddedin, while correction on this was given by Zehra Toska. She showed that it was instead, the work of Dervis-pasha Bajazidagic from town of Mostar, who was in 1582 at the time of writing this work, a scholar at the Court, and fifteen years later become a bosnian beglerbey.
