Number of Councillors: 15 with three councillors elected from each of five wards.

Electoral System:Optional preferential voting, to elect a single member where the Mayor is popularly elected, or to elect multiple members by proportional representation for Council elections.

2017 Party Result:Labor 9,Liberal 5,Greens 1

2021 Party Result:Labor 9,Liberal 5,Independent 1

More Information

Canterbury-Bankstown Council was formed from the 2016 merger of its former separate entities, Canterbury Council and Bankstown Council. Around two-third of residents were previously in Bankstown, around one third in Canterbury.

NOTES ON RESULTS

'*' indicates a re-contesting councillor or mayor.Elected indicates a candidate who appears certain of election. The NSW Electoral Commission will not begin declaring any candidates elected until 20 December.
