BERLIN — Daniel Wingate, current design director of the Escada main line collection, has been named fashion director at the Munich fashion house.

In his new role, Wingate will now be responsible for the design direction of both the Escada and Escada Sport collections. This will help ensure a more continuous signature expression throughout the Escada ranges, a company spokeswoman said.

“As Escada Sport is mostly placed next to Escada, both in a department store environment as well as in monobrand stores, a more harmonized approach in the 10 color stories we deliver per year makes sense,” she added.

Starting with the resort 2014 collection, which will hit stores in November 2013, Escada White Label will be integrated into Escada Sport, thus expanding the collection in a more luxurious and elegant casual direction. Knit, jersey, denim and outerwear in entry and core price ranges will remain a key focus of Escada Sport, the spokeswoman said.
