"Vs. Robo Dedede"[1] is a theme that plays during the battle againstRobo Dedede inKirby's Dream Course. It's both frantic and upbeat, and features a constantly-changing key. It has made scattered reappearances throughout the series afterward. This track also has a sister track in the form of "Vs. Robo Dedede: In Crisis".

Kirby's Dream Course[edit]

In its origin game, "Vs. Robo Dedede" plays during the battle against Robo Dedede. The full theme, including both the sound effects for King Dedede hopping into the mech and the intro, is listed as BGM 030 in the game'sSound Room, while an intro-less version is listed as BGM 028.
Kirby's Avalanche[edit]
InKirby's Avalanche, an arrangement of "Vs. Robo Dedede" plays during the battle againstKing Dedede in Stage 13 of Competition Mode. This arrangement of the theme was done by Einosuke Nagao, and is listed in the Sound Test as Track 09.
Kirby's Toy Box[edit]
InKirby's Toy Box, "Vs. Robo Dedede" doesn't reappear on its own: instead, the jingle that plays whenever the player restarts one of the games is an almost exact port of "Vs. Robo Dedede"'s opening, just at a different pitch.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land /Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]
InKirby's Return to Dream Land and itsremake, the "Pressure Panic" theme bears a striking resemblance to "Vs. Robo Dedede". The track plays inEgg Engines - Stage 5, specifically during the sections of the stage where Kirby has to avoid being crushed by falling blocks from above. Exclusively in the remake, the final crusher segment of the stage uses a different theme instead: "Climactic Clash! Robo Dedede". "Pressure Panic" was composed byJun Ishikawa,[2] and is listed as Music 61 in the original Wii version'sSound Test and as Track 111 in the remake's Jukebox.
Kirby Fighters Deluxe[edit]
InKirby Fighters Deluxe, "Vs. Robo Dedede" makes its first proper reappearance in around 19 years, being arranged alongside three other themes related to King Dedede in the medley "History of Dedede". This track can be heard when fighting King Dedede and his two Combo Dededes during the battle withTeam DDD on Very Hard mode, after having defeated all of the Mini Dededes. This medley was arranged by Hirokazu Ando.
Kirby Star Allies[edit]
InKirby Star Allies, "Vs. Robo Dedede" is represented by the return of "Pressure Panic" and "History of Dedede". "Pressure Panic" plays in enemy gauntlets exclusive toGuest Star ???? Star Allies Go!, and "History of Dedede" plays when battling either King Dedede onThe Ultimate Choice's Soul Melter difficulty, or when battlingParallel Dedede's first phase in the Soul Melter EX difficulty. As of version 4.0.0, "Pressure Panic" is listed as Track 158 in the game's Jukebox, and "History of Dedede" is listed as Track 203.
Kirby's Dream Buffet[edit]
InKirby's Dream Buffet, one of the tracks that can randomly play inminigames is an arrangement of "Vs. Robo Dedede", titled "Mechanical King Dedede" on theNintendo Music app. It prominently features saxophones and brass instruments, and opens with a quotation of "Vs. Robo Dedede: In Crisis". It was arranged byHirokazu Ando, the original composer of both themes.[3]
The original version of "Vs. Robo Dedede" also reappears as an unlockable track titled"Kirby's Dream Course: Memorial Song 2", becoming available to the player forRaces andFree Rolling after reachingGourmet Rank 121. In addition, the "King Dedede Medley by HAL Laboratory Dream Band" from theKirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival, which includes "Vs. Robo Dedede", can be unlocked in the game as well after reaching Gourmet Rank 135. The medley is named "Kirby 30th Music Fest: HAL Laboratory Dream Band Song" in-game—additionally, if it plays in aGourmet Grand Prix, it will permeate throughout the entire event up until theBattle Royale at the end.
Other appearances[edit]
As stated earlier, "Vs. Robo Dedede" appears in the"King Dedede Medley by HAL Laboratory Dream Band" for the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival, which was arranged byYuuta Ogasawara. In the medley, it's the second main segment of three, and prominently featuresMegumi Ohara on flute and vocals.
