"VS. Kracko"[conjectural title] is a theme fromKirby's Epic Yarn andKirby's Extra Epic Yarn that plays when Kirby does battle againstSpace Kracko inOuter Rings andKracko inCloud Palace. It does not appear in either of the games'Tunes.

Composition[edit]

Rocket Kirby fights against Space Kracko and his meteor showers.

"VS. Kracko" is a very short theme, lasting only about 6.5 seconds before looping. In the key of D minor, the theme emphasizes its piano-focused melody and harmony by repeating the same notes quite frequently. The short melody shares intonational similarities with the game's jazzier themes, in particular "Dusk Dunes". Halfway through the loop, the melody and harmony jump to a slightly lower set of notes, but they both stay energetic and simple. A background piano can constantly be heard going through downward arpeggios, and the percussion is punchy in comparison to most other tracks from this game. Given its nature as a Mid-Boss theme, this track fits well into that role - not quite reaching the intensity of the standard boss themes, but still setting the tone for a more dangerous scenario than usual.
