"True Friends Stand with You"[2] is a theme fromKirby Star Allies that plays in the stagesInner Sanctum andHeavenly Hall. It was composed byHirokazu Ando.[1]
Composition[edit]
"True Friends Stand with You" is a dramatic and resolute theme in A minor and 4/4. The intro section presents a relatively static progression showcasing the tonality and the jazzy nature of the accompaniment. The melody is derived from "Adventures in Jambastion", but is more rhythmically even, lower-pitched, and has a distinct ending with a descending tetrachord and further variations. An electric guitar brings up the melody by an octave. While its ending is tonally stable, the supporting harmonies begin a shift, marking the start of the second section. Here, a minor variation of "Friendly Field"'s third section plays out with more acoustic instrumentation. It finds resolution in the descending phrase of "Kirby's Triumphant Return", which ends on a dominant. The third section is a quotation of "A Battle of Friends and Bonds", where the improvisational accompaniment flourishes. Its latter portion follows the melody of "Twinkle☆Stars"' second section more closely, tying the two themes together. Once this comes to an end, the first section of "Friendly Field" follows immediately in a rising pattern. The final section focuses on the rising phrase shared between "A New Wind for Tomorrow", "For the Brave", "Friendly Field" and "Twinkle☆Stars" before giving way to a transitional electric guitar passage based on the intro with supporting bells and piano. The track loops from the first section after this.

InKirby Star Allies, "True Friends Stand with You" plays throughout the stagesInner Sanctum andHeavenly Hall, as well as in The Ultimate Choice's rest area before fighting the Mage-Sisters and Hyness on difficulty levels 6 and 7. It can be found as track 055 in theJukebox. Additionally, the melody of "True Friends Stand with You" can be heard in "A Forgotten Flash of Lightning", the boss battle theme forZan Partizanne. This version is rhythmically varied to fit the theme's triple meter.
