Trident Knight

Trident Knight is a stout enemy first appearing inKirby's Adventure. Trident Knights wear armor resembling that of a samurai warrior with a crescent moon decoration on their helmet, and use electrified tridents as projectile weapons. Part of theMeta-Knights group, Trident Knights appear during Meta-Knightmid-boss sequences, typically spawning on high platforms and throwing tridents down atKirby. Like the other members of their group, they give noability if inhaled and swallowed.

Kirby's Adventure /Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]
Trident Knight debuts as a member of the Meta-Knights inKirby's Adventure and its remake,Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. It is fought alongside the other group membersAxe Knight,Javelin Knight, andMace Knight. During the battle, it will stand on a ledge and throw tridents in an attempt to damage Kirby. It can be defeated by using Copy Abilities or inhaling and spitting the tridents back at it.
Kirby Super Star /Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]
Trident Knight re-appears inKirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra with a similar role to that of its previous outing. In this, however, it is capable of charging at Kirby with his trident in addition to its trident throws.
UnlikeAxe Knight andMace Knight, Trident Knight has no dialogue inRevenge of Meta Knight.
Kirby Mass Attack[edit]
InKirby Mass Attack, Trident Knight is fought alongsideAxe Knight at the end of Stage 4 in the sub-gameStrato Patrol EOS. Its moveset has been reworked to fit the style of the subgame. Now, its only attack is charging downward from the top of the screen, followed by an upward thrust once it travels off-screen.Trident Knight also appears in theKirby Quest sub-game. Similarly to Strato Patrol EOS, it is battled with the rest of the Meta-Knights in Chapter 3.
Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]
Trident Knight makes a cameo in theKirby: Planet Robobot sub-gameMeta Knightmare Returns. When Meta Knight uses his Meta Knightmares attack, Trident Knight appears with the rest of the Meta-Knights to defeat all on-screen foes.
Trident Knight also appears as asticker, taking his art fromKirby Super Star.

In theKirby novel series, Trident Knight is one of the four members of theMeta-Knights, a group of loyal servants who work forMeta Knight as the main combatants of theBattleship Halberd. He is usually grouped with the others, and does very little to stand out.

During the finals, Trident Knight observes the match, wondering who will win. After Kirby spits outSword Knight, he is relieved to find that Sword Knight did not abandon them. | ||

Trident Knight gets mad at Kirby after learning that he ate all the cakes and holds his weapon against him. After they state that they want to help save theRainbow Islands, he and the otherMeta-Knights start to envision a vacation like the one thatKing Dedede wants, implying that they want to save the Rainbow Islands only to get a vacation. When Meta Knight returns from the adventure, Trident Knight misinterprets Meta Knight's disclaim of accomplishment as modesty. | ||
| Kirby: Meta Knight and the Knight of Yomi | Tertiary supporting character | In this volume, Trident Knight competes with the other Meta-Knights to see who can defeat the most enemies as he protects theHalberd from a usual pirate raid. After the pirates' captain breaks the supposedGalaxia, he helps to stop him in the middle of a gloat and scare him out of the Halberd. He comes with Meta Knight to the weapon shop and learns about the master of disguise from the imprisoned shopkeeper. He comes with Meta Knight toPlanet Magnus and searches for a doctor to heal him after he is rescued from the Magnus Hellhole. He and the other The Meta-Knights are sent by Captain Vul toPlanet Charm to help Kirby and his friends with fighting. When Kirby fightsGalacta Knight, he tries to volunteer himself to be inhaled by Kirby so he can receive a copy ability, but Kirby inhalesBlade Knight instead. While Kirby and King Dedede fight Galacta Knight, Trident Knight chases Beryl but falls into a hole he prepared as a trap. While the fight continues, he needs to hear fromWaddle Dee reports to how it is going. After Meta Knight rescues them, he suggests that a suitable punishment for Beryl is sending him toCastle Dedede to do all of theWaddle Dees's work. At the end of the story, he has a tea party with all the other subordinates of Meta Knight. | ||
| Kirby: Uproar at the Kirby Café?! | Tertiary supporting character | In this volume, like the other Meta-Knights, Trident Knight is excited by the thought of trying the desserts of the cooking competition. Meta Knight agrees to let the Meta-Knights taste the dishes, but only if they think of it as part of their training. Trident Knight comes on the day of the competition with Meta Knight and wonders with the others what dish will win each round. | ||
