Togezo is a spiky shell-wearingenemy that has only appeared inKirby's Dream Land 3. It is a small black creature with stubby red feet and glowing eyes which wears a shell on its head covered in spikes. Togezo's shell and spike colors are similar to those ofSpiny's appearance fromKirby's Dream Course, but now possesses red feet and yellow eyes (red in its artwork). The appearance of its carapace has a much flatter rim, keeping it from covering the creature's back completely.Kirby can obtain theNeedleCopy Ability byinhaling and swallowing Togezo.

It somewhat resemblesSpiny, an enemy from theSuper Mario franchise; the two also share the same Japanese name, furthering this connection.

Togezo makes its only appearance in the series inKirby's Dream Land 3, where it is encountered several times throughout the game, first appearing in thestage six ofGrass Land. Togezos initially pace left and right before hiding in their shells and extending their thorns when Kirby gets close, much like how aSpikey attacks inKirby's Dream Land 2. Doing so renders them immobile, but not invincible, enabling Kirby to easily inhale or attack them.
