| “ | We didn't think the Crash ability's boom could get any biggest-er...but this one can break time itself! Slow down time, then act fast to cause some real destruction! | ” | — Figure description fromKirby and the Forgotten Land |
Time Crash is anEvolved Copy Ability based onCrash that appears inKirby and the Forgotten Land andKirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World. While equipped with this ability,Kirby gains a golden top hat with a shining hourglass inset and a timer dial on the front. Time Crash allows Kirby to create an explosion that slows time down significantly for a few seconds, creating a sepia-tone effect and muffling the music. Unlike Crash however, the explosion itself does not deal damage to enemies; instead, it surrounds Kirby with an energy field, and he can run into enemies to deal heavy damage to them, in a manner similar toInvincible Candy. This extends the duration of the slowdown with each new enemy defeated. During the move, Kirby cannot be hurt by collision with normal enemies,mid-bosses, orBosses, but he can still takedamage from invincible enemies or projectiles, as well as otherhazards. However, they will be affected by the slow time, letting Kirby avoid them more easily. As the slowdown effect wears off, time begins to move faster and the area of the sepia filter shrinks towards Kirby until it vanishes completely, and Kirby loses the ability. If the move is interrupted before it runs out, such as by leaving the area, activatingMouthful Mode, or triggering a cutscene, the ability will not be lost, and can be used again.
TheBlueprint for Time Crash can be obtained inInvasion at the House of Horrors inWondaria Remains. After completing the main story, it can only be powered-up once. Time Crash is necessary to play and complete theTreasure Road stageStop Time! Slow-World Scramble, which is marked with three stars of difficulty.
