Tick is a recurring enemy debuting inKirby's Dream Land 3. Its appearance is that of a white blob with a pair of big, round eyes, a smiling mouth and an extendable red spike atop its head. Its facial expression changes depending on what it is doing, being able to switch from friendly to malicious and back again.

Ticks walk around harmlessly at first, but stop and attempt to stabKirby when he is above them. Inhaling and swallowing them awards Kirby theNeedleability.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[edit]

Tick inKirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Tick makes its debut 3D appearance in this game. It behaves largely the same as it did in the previous game, and still provides theNeedle ability. If Kirby holds a Tick over his head, the Tick will continually use its jabbing attack, which can damage enemies above Kirby.

Tick is given a slight color revision in this game, as its body is beige instead of white.

Tick also appears on the 48thEnemy Info Card.

A larger mid-boss variant of Tick appears instage 1 ofAqua Star. This larger Tick does not do much, but smaller Ticks appear continuously down below which try to jab at Kirby in the meantime.

Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]

Tick returns inKirby: Canvas Curse, with a similar look and attack strategy as it had inKirby 64. It is a fairly uncommon enemy, and can be easily bested by tapping it with theNintendo DS stylus before running into it with Kirby to gain theNeedle ability.

In this game, Tick has a different design: its mouth is not visible, except when attacking or defeated, and its eyes now turn yellow while attacking, the last of which was kept for future appearances.

Locations[edit]

InKirby: Canvas Curse's main game, Tick appears only in theNeo Greo stageDreamy Darkness.
