Throw and Catch! Treasure Collecting (Cutter Treasure for short) is a stage inTreasure Road, found inNatural Plains. This stage tasksKirby with completing a challenge revolving around the use ofCutter, requiring him to catchCollect Pieces overspike pits using his blades. The stage is unlocked after completingThrough the Tunnel. It is marked by one star of difficulty and has a stage time of three and a half minutes (three minutes in Wild Mode), with a target time of one minute.
Stage details[edit]
The stage takes place in three main parts. In the first, Kirby is introduced to the idea of catching items with his Cutter boomerang when he is tasked to toss one at a Collect Piece over a pit ofspikes. This done, a bridge of blocks appears to lead Kirby to a wider platform where he must do this again with four more pieces while fending off some enemies. Once all five are collected, the warp pad activates, and Kirby can take it to the next platform. The second area features the same sort of piece catching, but involving moving platforms to ferry Kirby to each side. After this, another warp pad takes Kirby to the third main area, which features aShotzo firing in the middle of a spike pit surrounded by two orbiting Collect Pieces with the remainder on the periphery. Kirby can neutralize the Shotzo by breaking a Bomb Block to make it fall into a hole. Once Kirby activates and goes through the last warp pad, he reaches the platform with the Rare Stone on it, guarded (rather ineffectively) by twoSir Kibbles.
Tips[edit]
The following are tips on how to attain the target time for this stage:
- The target time window for this stage is very generous, so there should be little issue reaching it as long as Kirby moves at a brisk pace.
- Kirby does not need to wait for his first Cutter blade to return before throwing another one. Additionally, once the blade is out and catches its piece, Kirby can move along and not have to wait for its return.
