"The World to Win" is a musical piece composed byHirokazu Ando which features primarily inKirby: Triple Deluxe. It is used for the second phase of the battles withFlowered Sectonia andSoul of Sectonia. The theme is a fast-paced orchestral/drum-and-bass remix of "Hypernova Inhale", which is itself an arrangement of "Floral Fields", one of the primary leitmotifs ofKirby: Triple Deluxe.

Composition[edit]

HypernovaKirby attempts to inhaleFlowered Sectonia's giant power beam in the final standoff.

"The World to Win", underscoring the struggle betweenHypernova Kirby and Flowered Sectonia, uses "Hypernova Inhale" and "Green Greens" (both themes associated with Kirby) to signify that the tides of the battle are turning in Kirby's favor. It is set at 160 beats per minute primarily in the key of G minor.

The theme starts out in D major with an orchestral fanfare intro based on "Hypernova Inhale", a brief moment of catharsis as Kirby transforms into Hypernova form one last time. When this segment concludes, the theme launches forward in G minor; a piano plays the chord progression of "Spring Smash Factory" while the main melody derives from "Hypernova Inhale" (the first section of "Floral Fields"). The piano and an electronic drum-and-bass beat provide accompaniment through the whole song. In the first section, the main melody plays primarily on strings while woodwinds and low strings complement it.

After a moment of suspense, brass stabs mark the beginning of the second segment. Here, the melody alternates between a high-pitched piccolo and low brass. This part of the theme takes more influence from the final part of "Floral Fields" in comparison to "Hypernova Inhale", featuring a lyrical melody echoing the guitar solo of the original song. During the second iteration of this melody, a marching snare rhythm takes over, leading into the final section.

Finally, in the third segment, the bass and drums drop out as the piano becomes prominent. Here, an interlude based on the second part of "Green Greens" takes over. This segment alternates between strings and a clarinet. When this melody concludes, the brass continues to play the chord progression of "Hypernova Inhale" (derived from "Spring Smash Factory") and the drums and bass kick back in. A trumpet reprises the final phrase of "Green Greens" as the piano picks up the chords and heavy drum kicks emphasize them. Following this, the theme loops back to the first section.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

"The World to Win" appears as Track 104 inKirby: Triple Deluxe'sJukebox and track 40 on theKirby: Triple Deluxe Soundtrack CD.

For the second phase ofSoul of Sectonia, a different version of "The World to Win" is featured. It uses a unique and more intense intro, and the melody starts at the second section (the piccolo and low brass duet). Once the third segment concludes, it loops as normal, returning to the first segment. It can be found as Track 124 inKirby: Triple Deluxe's Jukebox, but it is not included on theKirby: Triple Deluxe Soundtrack CD.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

InSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U, the original version of "The World to Win" appears as a default theme for the DLC stageDream Land.

"The World to Win" also returns as a selectable music track for allKirby series stages, Battlefield, Final Destination and their derivatives inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.
