When Kirby escapes to the elevator with a fewWaddle Dees after the battle againstForgo Dedede, it will start up and carry them up to Lab Discovera. After the elevator doors close, the computer system will boot and run through startup tasks to detect the system language and authenticate the group before the elevator starts moving and the pre-recorded tour guide begins to play, set to a tinny rendition of "Welcome to the New World!" and "The Smell of a Scary Beast".
The automatic tour is guided by a cheery woman who explains the nature ofID-F86 and Lab Discovera (while most foreign versions of the speech feature a cheery voice, the tour guide in the European French version speaks with a calmer voice). When ID-F86 originally arrived on this planet, it began to attack the native wildlife until the world's previous inhabitants captured it for experimentation, thus halting the invasion before it worsened. The researchers of Lab Discovera studied ID-F86's spatial teleportation abilities in order to learn how to utilize it for their own technologies. 30 years after starting their research, an incident involving the experimentation of ID-F86's abilities causedElfilin to split from it and escape the lab while ID-F86 was kept under permanent stasis for an unknown duration until Kirby's arrival.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land[edit]
InKirby and the Forgotten Land, the theme accompanies the cutscene of the same name when Kirby entersLab Discovera after completion ofIn the Presence of the King. In this context, the second half of the track ("The Smell of a Scary Beast") will continuously loop until Kirby enters the Eternal Capsule chamber. After Kirby upgrades theWaddle Live! Corner Stage for the first time,the Deedly Dees can play a non-looping instrumental version of the track as track 63.
BothKirby and the Forgotten Land: The Complete Soundtrack and theKirby and the Forgotten Land Sound Selection include a variation of this track with the Japanese voiceover and the various sound effects used during the cutscene. It can be listened to as track 8 on disc 3 on the former and as track 28 on the latter. A version of "The Dream Discoveries Tour" without the Japanese voiceover was also one of the 23 music tracks added toNintendo Music on March 25, 2025, and is otherwise identical to the CD versions. This version was later renamed"The Dream Discoveries Tour (Guide Off)" on August 26, 2025 to distinguish it from the version with the Japanese voiceover that was added to the app on the same day.
In addition to these versions of "The Dream Discoveries Tour", echoing, distorted recordings of the phrases "And here we are!", "Welcome, visitors", "Automatic language detection...activated!" and "ID-F86!" are used for "Eternal Echo of the Thrilling Tour-our-our", which plays prior to the battles inForgo Land and at the start of the spherical phase of the battle againstChaos Elfilis inThe Ultimate Cup Z.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World[edit]
In addition to "The Dream Discoveries Tour" reprising its role from the original Nintendo Switch version,Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World includes glitched out, distorted versions of the music and multilingual narration from "The Dream Discoveries Tour" as a part of "Prescient Stirring Fa-lu-wa-a Song" and "Eternally Stirring Fa-lu-wa-a Song". In the former, the voice clips used correspond to the phrases "Automatic language detection...activated!" and "Authenticating..." in various languages, and "Initiating—再起動します。」 in English and Japanese. The latter features all the above-mentioned multilingual voice clips in addition to "the Dream Discoveries Tour" and "the ultimate life-form" in English.
Finally,Chaos Elfilis' "And Here We Are" attack inThe Ultimate Cup Z EX is accompanied with all 10 multilingual iterations of the voice clip (English, Japanese, Canadian French, Latin American Spanish, European French, German, Italian, Dutch, European Spanish and Korean) for the entire duration of the attack, in addition to the English and Japanese "Welcome, visitors" voice recordings at the end of the attack. These clips are considered separate sound effects from the background music, unlike in The Ultimate Cup Z.

Trivia[edit]
- The "automatic language detection" at the beginning is a mildfourth wall reference, as the game uses the system language to determine which audio files to play. The game defaults to English when played in an unsupported language (i.e. Portuguese, Russian, Polish or Thai); when playing in Chinese, the English audio files are used, but the subtitles are properly localized. For the French and Spanish versions, when the game is played on a Nintendo Switch system, the system's region determines whether the North American or European dialects are used—Japan, The Americas, and Hong Kong/Taiwan/South Korea use the North American dialects, while Europe and Australia/New Zealand use the European dialects.
- There are several references to theKirby series hidden within the recording:
- "ID-F86" is a reference toHAL Laboratory, as 86 can be read as "HAL" in Japanese (though it is pronounced more traditionally as "hachi-roku" in this case).
- The mention of "30 years" is a nod toKirby's 30th Anniversary.
- The use of the word "discoveries" in the name of the tour, and Lab Discovera by extension, is a reference to the Japanese, Korean and Chinese names ofKirby and the Forgotten Land, 星のカービィ ディスカバリー/별의 커비 디스커버리/星之卡比 探索發現/星之卡比 探索发现 (Kirby of the Stars: Discovery).
- For the voice of the tour guide, the Japanese and Korean versions employ professional voice actors, while all other languages with recorded narration feature the voice of a staff member at Nintendo of America or Nintendo of Europe, often from the localization staff, as is common practice for most Nintendo localizations in the appropriate regions (see, for example,the announcer voices forMario Party Superstars, which includes a Canadian French announcer (Thaddée Wiseur) uncredited elsewhere in that game's credits roll but credited forKirby and the Forgotten Land (under the heading "NOA Localization Management"), as well as other announcers also credited as translation staff). However, most of these staff members are not specifically credited for work on the localization ofKirby and the Forgotten Land or its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, with the exception of Clémence Dieryck (European French) for the former and Stefania Montagnese (Italian) for the latter.
- The Japanese voice of the tour guide, Minami Takayama, had also voicedKnuckle Joe in the Japanese versions ofKirby: Right Back at Ya! and theSuper Smash Bros. series starting withSuper Smash Bros. Brawl.
- Some of the sound effects that play during the "automatic language detection" voice clips at the beginning sound slightly different in the Japanese, Latin American Spanish and Canadian French versions compared to all the other foreign language recordings. These sounds are also used for "The Dream Discoveries Tour (Guide Off)" on Nintendo Music.
