The Brawl at the Mall is the sixth and final main stage ofNatural Plains inKirby and the Forgotten Land. This stage is unlocked after completingA Trip to Alivel Mall and requires Kirby to have saved at least 17Waddle Dees to enter. In this stage, Kirby does battle with the giant gorilla-likebossGorimondo in order to free the Waddle Dees in the cage that the gorilla wears as a necklace.

There are no capsules to collect in this stage, but there are fivemissions to complete in the full version. There are a total of seven Waddle Dees to rescue here.

Stage overview[edit]

The stage begins with Kirby riding aWarp Star into a dimly-lit internal space inside an abandoned shopping mall, where a looming shadow leaps overhead. After making his way through the main room past a fewAwoofies and heading up the broken escalator, he can find a big pile ofbananas in the corner and then pass by someCopy Essences forIce,Bomb, andSword. Past a long hallway, Kirby finds himself in a room with no way forward, but through a window, the giant gorillaGorimondo can be seen looking around. Eventually, he spots Kirby through the window and grabs him through it. After Kirby escapes (or fails to) from the gorilla's clutches, the boss fight proper begins.

The battle with Gorimondo takes place out in a large exterior space with no hazards or obstacles to contend with aside from the boss himself. Gorimondo's attacks include pulling out boulders from the ground to throw at Kirby, swiping at him with his giant arms, or stomping the ground. When Gorimondo's health is low, he will start attempting a big tornado-like spin to try and catch Kirby. Once Gorimondo is defeated, the stage is complete.

Differences between difficulties[edit]

There are no differences in the stage between Spring-Breeze Mode and Wild Mode.

Missions[edit]

The Brawl at the Mall has five missions to complete, as follows:

• "Clear the stage" - Kirby simply has to defeat Gorimondo and rescue the three caged Waddle Dees.
• "Slip through Gorimondo's legs" - Kirby must pass underneath Gorimondo's legs during the battle.
• "Defeat Gorimondo with the Sword ability" - Kirby must deal the finishing blow to Gorimondo using theSword ability or its variants.
• "Clear within 2:00" - Kirby must defeat Gorimondo within 2 minutes.
• "Clear without taking any damage" - Kirby must defeat Gorimondo without taking damage.

No missions are available to complete when playing this stage in the game'sdemo version.
