Super Bonkers
| ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||
Super Bonkers is a slightly stronger version of themid-bossBonkers who debuts inKirby's Return to Dream Land. He is unique in that he is a mid-boss that yields aSuper Ability, whereas all the other Super Abilities are yielded by normal enemies.
Appearance and characteristics[edit]

Aesthetically, Super Bonkers retains his regular counterpart’s purple-maroon armor jacket, but he now has red trimmings that look like flames adorning his sleeves. Like the other Super Ability enemies, he has a star on his hair, and a multicolored aura around his body. Super Bonkers also wears black pants with light black detailing stylized as flames near the cuffs. He also wields a slightly pink-hued hammer, as opposed to Bonkers' standard hammer.
Upon his defeat, Super Bonkers will yield Kirby theGrand Hammer super ability. Super Bonkers cannot be directly inhaled to get Grand Hammer because he explodes immediately upon defeat, leaving the Grand HammerAbility Star behind. The Ability Star itself can be inhaled or merely touched to obtain the ability. Since Super Bonkers is a mid-boss, he does not respawn upon leaving and returning, unlike the other Super Ability enemies.
In Extra Mode, Super Bonkers' armored jacket is black with orange flame-shaped trimmings. His hair and pants are red and the trimmings on the pants are orange like the ones on his sleeves. Super Bonkers EX also has a hammer with a gray tone to it. The wooden section of it is red, however.
Even though Super Bonkers is a mid-boss, he is not fought inThe Arena orThe True Arena. This is likely because these modes do not use Super Abilities, and even if he did not yield one, he is effectively just a variation of regular Bonkers.
Attacks[edit]
Super Bonkers retains all of the attacks that his regular counterpart uses, both inStory Mode andExtra Mode. The following is a list of them. Attack names are pulled from official strategy guides concerning Bonkers' appearances inKirby: Triple Deluxe andKirby: Planet Robobot.

Trivia[edit]
- Super Bonkers is not the only provider ofGrand Hammer. Kirby can also obtain the ability from a glowing hammer thrown out byMagolor EX during his boss fight.
- Due to the nature of Bonkers' appearances resulting in him having less health or significance, Super Bonkers, while not technically stronger than regular Bonkers, appears to be tougher in practice.
