This article is about stickers inKirby: Planet Robobot. For stickers inSuper Kirby Clash, seeSticker (Super Kirby Clash).

Asticker is a collectible object inKirby: Planet Robobot, much like thekeychains inKirby: Triple Deluxe. There are 200 distinct stickers in the game, some of which are rare. They can be collected by various means, including finding them in Story Mode or inMeta Knightmare Returns, earning them in theGoal Game, obtaining them inThe Arena andThe True Arena, obtaining them fromBandana Waddle Dee usingStreetPass, or spending 3DS Play Coins to get them. Unique rare stickers, however, can only be obtained in Story Mode, with one appearing in each non-boss stage in a specific location.

For information on where to obtain the rare stickers, visit thestage pages for each area.

Description[edit]

An example of stickers appearing in a themed group on the main menu. In this case, the theme is stickers with a single distinctive letter: the "M" of theMeta Knight Icon, the "M" of aMaxim Tomato, and the "H" of theHaltmann Works Co. Logo.

There are 200 stickers in total, and they come in two types: normal (which are silver) and rare (which are golden and have a ribbon behind them). At the end of a stage for whichever game mode is being played, all collected stickers are identified and added to the collection. The stage or mode must be completed in order for this to happen; otherwise, all collected stickers up to that point will be lost. Collected stickers are pieces of artwork, either designed specifically forPlanet Robobot, or taken from artwork for previous installments in theKirby series.

Normal stickers are randomly obtained. Generally, the selection will favor new kinds of stickers, but it is possible to obtain the same type of sticker more than once. Rare stickers are fixed, however, and can be found only in particular places in Story Mode, one in each stage (excluding boss stages). After a rare sticker is collected, subsequent visits to that stage will have a normal sticker in its spot; therefore, only one of each rare sticker can typically be collected.

The game will congratulate the player on how many unique stickers they have collected. The milestones are as follows:

  • 50 unique stickers
  • 100 unique stickers
  • 150 unique stickers
  • 180 unique stickers
  • All 200 stickers

Additionally, stickers can be shared with other players viaStreetPass, as one of the items thrown out byBandana Waddle Dee. Stickers can be viewed in the Sticker Room; if a rare sticker for a stage was missed after clearing it, the Sticker Room will provide a hint for its location. Unlike keychains, stickers also have a functionality to them, in that they can be placed on theRobobot Armor to customize its look. One sticker can be placed on each arm, meaning that up to two stickers can be displayed at any one time.

Main article:Sticker (Kirby: Planet Robobot)/Formations

Stickers can also be seen on the main menu, with a selection of stickers unique to each file appearing on the top screen. As the game progresses and more stickers are obtained, they will begin to appear in formations following a pre-set theme (for example, characters from the same game, or different varieties of a particular character). For more information about Sticker formations, seehere.

Collecting all 200 stickers is also a requirement for100% completion.

In other games[edit]

InKirby 3D Rumble and its expanded version,Kirby's Blowout Blast, stickers can be seen hidden in certain stages by moving the C-Stick on the New Nintendo 3DS. At least one sticker is hidden in every stage of Kirby 3D Rumble, while inKirby's Blowout Blast, one is hidden in the last non-boss stage of each level (including the EX stages).

Trivia[edit]

  • The two stickers on the Robobot Armor when Story Mode is complete will also appear in the "Ending" cutscene.
  • Some of the different foreign versions have interesting quirks when it comes to writing out game titles:
    • The Canadian French version re-uses all of the European French names forKirby games where applicable (with the exception ofKirby: Squeak Squad which uses the British EnglishKirby: Mouse Attack title), when Canadian French game titles for first-party Nintendo games are normally untranslated from English.
    • The Korean version uses the American English titles for most games released prior toKirby: Squeak Squad, in addition toKirby and the Rainbow Curse, as they do not have a proper Korean localization.Kirby's Adventure,Kirby's Dream Course andKirby 64: The Crystal Shards are the only exceptions to this rule, as these titles have official Korean names that are consistently used in Nintendo games ever since their introduction on the Wii Virtual Console, despite all three games not seeing an official Korean translation at the time.
    • In the American English, Latin American Spanish and Korean versions, the stickers of artwork fromKirby Tilt 'n' Tumble incorrectly name the game as "Kirby's Tilt 'N Tumble". This was corrected for the European-language localizations, though with the British English and French versions parsing it asKirby Tilt 'N' Tumble.
    • DespiteKirby: Nightmare in Dream Land having a proper localized German title, the German version ofKirby: Planet Robobot does not use it, instead reusing the English title.
    • The American English version does not have a colon present when referring toKirby: Canvas Curse andKirby: Squeak Squad (it is also present in the Korean version for the former game title). The Latin American Spanish localization fixes this error for both games.
    • The European French version uses the British EnglishKirby: Mouse Attack title forKirby: Squeak Squad stickers, even though the game has a proper localized European French title. In addition, while French punctuation generally has a space before every colon, each French game title does not do this, instead choosing to adhere to English punctuation.

  1. Initially, we'd planned to call it "Kirby: HAGANE" ("hagane" is Japanese for "steel"), but as Popstar would be populated by robots, we then leaned towards "Kirby: Robot Planet". [...]

Interesting! I do think that "HAGANE" would have been perhaps a little too edgy for a Kirby game. Plus, I can see it being quite a difficult title to convey overseas.
