"Standings"[1] is theMini-Game results theme fromKirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It was composed byJun Ishikawa.[1]
Composition[edit]

"Standings" is a brisk and relatively simple theme in 4/4 time. While its tonality fluctuates, the major keys consistently use a low seventh tone indicative of Mixolydian mode. After a short fanfare on the dominant, the theme features a singular melodic idea consisting of rising and falling repeated notes spanning within a third, reiterated several times with alerations in the supporting harmonies. Each iteration includes a major and minor variation, and is passed on between several instruments: trumpets and then pan flutes each play it in F major and minor, then trumpets return and bring it to F-sharp major and minor, followed by blown bottles in high registers. The track loops without any dedicated transitions.
