Stage

- This article is about stages in relation to levels in the Kirby games. For playable stages in theKirby Fighters games, seeBattle Stage.
Astage is typically defined as an individual playable portion of alevel. In theKirby series, almost all levels are sub-divided into three or more stages (four if theboss stage is counted), which can be accessed from thelevel's hub area or simply played in sequence. In almost all cases, stages are where the gameplay of any givenKirby game takes place, and severalSub-Games will tend to also be divided into stages (though these will not be covered on this page).

Kirby Air Riders[edit]
- Main article:Road Trip
InKirby Air Riders,Road Trip is subdivided into stages, though they are functionally more similar tolevel hubs; each stage features a three-laned road upon which the rider rides and interacts with various elements, which can be challenges, items, boss challenges,Air Ride Machines, Road Shops, or events such as a cannon to launch the rider backwards in order to complete more challenges. These stages are usually divided into sections broken up by Rest Stops, which give the rider a choice between one of three differentpatches. There are a total of twenty-six stages in Road Trip; however, it is presented as a series of branching paths where the destination depends on the helper chosen, of which there are between one to three per stage. In a normal playthrough, only eleven of these stages are available per file, while New Game + adds a twelfth stage after the defeat ofHyper Gigantes. Stages 1, 5, 11, and 12 are always the same.
