Spark Challenge is the third stage of Happiness Hall inNew Challenge Stages, unlocked after completing theSword Challenge. It testsKirby's proficiency with theSparkCopy Ability in a series of chambers, where the goal is to defeat all the enemies and collect all the coins as quickly as possible. The window of time to earn a Platinum Medal is 1:10 or higher.
Completing this stage is necessary to unlock thefirst Magolor Race.
Layout[edit]
The stage consists of two main chambers, and two side-chambers.
The first area starts by having Kirby bust through some barricades and enemies as he heads downwards. After dealing with the enemies in the floor and ceiling pockets, the path continues downward, eventually leading to an area where Kirby can charge up a Spark Barrier while falling slowly against an upward breeze. He can then release the charge at the bottom to hit a switch inside the wall and open up a door leading to a side room. In this room, three switches in the floor will need to be pressed to access a coin cache. Back on the main path, the door to the next area can be found down another chute, guarded by manyBronto Burts.
The second area starts with a drop into a wide room with no floor where Kirby can ride a series of moving platforms while dealing with foes along the way. A switch in the ceiling on the upper part of this path opens the way to another side area. In this side room, Kirby needs to break a Bomb Block at the right time to cause coins to drop onto a moving platform so they can be collected. Back on the main path, another moving platform takes Kirby along with someWaddle Dees in a line in the wall, which will need to be blasted. From there, Kirby will ride a very fast platform past someBowbys, then ride a slow platform upward while dealing withJackles to the right. The stage exit can then be found past a Bomb Block barrier, a bunch ofSparkys that drop from above, and a really big Sparky in front of the door itself.

Tips[edit]
There are a few things to keep in mind when aiming for Platinum on this stage, though it should be noted that the strategies listed here are by no means the only ones that will do the job:
- Sometimes it is better to use a Spark Attack, and other times it is better to use a Spark Barrier, as the former can break Star Blocks, and the latter can be used while running. The two cannot be used simultaneously.
- Unlike other Spark Attacks, Thunderbolt and Lightning Strike cannot be held for a continuous attack, so timing their use is important.
- Shaking the Wii Remote to charge a Spark Barrier allows Kirby to move unimpeded while charging it, which gives the Wii Remote an advantage over the GameCube controller on this stage.
- Thunderbolt and Lightning Strike can pass throughthin floors, while Spark Wave can pass through solid walls. Knowing these properties, and when to use each, is essential to getting the highest score on this stage.
