| “ | Theultimate challenge of Smash skills continues inSmash Combat Chamber EX! | ” | — Smash Combat Chamber EX Caption |
Smash Combat Chamber EX is the fourth stage of Last Land inNew Challenge Stages. It is unlocked after completingMagolor Race 3. It testsKirby's proficiency with theSmashCopy Ability in a series of chambers, where the goal is to defeat all the enemies and collect all the coins as quickly as possible. This stage essentially serves as aTower of Mid-Bosses. The window of time to earn a Platinum Medal is 0:30 or higher.
Layout[edit]
The stage consists of three long chambers, broken up by four smaller rooms withFood and coins in them.
The first room is rather simple. Kirby is lifted up on a moving platform, and must break through a metal block barricade to enter the door just to the right.
In the second room, Kirby must contend with three mid-bosses in sequence, as follows:
Each time a mid-boss is defeated, the main floor raises in height, and a line of coins appears that can be collected. After the last one, a door to the next room opens.
In the third room, Kirby will bust first through a wall of Star Blocks, then stone blocks, then metal blocks before heading through the next door. A small cache of food can be found here under a different metal block barrier.
The fourth room is similar to the second, but this time with the following Mid-Boss encounters:
The fifth room features an open space with two decks of metal blocks serving as the floor above an abyss. SeveralGold Waddle Dees andHalcandle Dees appear here which need to be defeated, but Kirby should mind what moves he uses, or else he may accidentally break the floor and lose them. After this, another food cache can be accessed before entering the door.
The sixth room pits Kirby in a fight againstWhispy Woods. The battle is similar to how Whispy fights in theExtra Mode ofKirby's Return to Dream Land. Once the great tree is pacified, the door appears.
The last room features a Star Block formation spelling out the number "20", much like in the firstSmash Combat Chamber. This time, however, it floats above a crumbling floor, so Kirby will need to be careful while collecting the coins. From there, the stage exit awaits.

Tips[edit]
There are a few things to keep in mind when aiming for Platinum on this stage, though it should be noted that the strategies listed here are by no means the only ones that will do the job:
- There are food items in the stage that can be used to recover health, but an ideal run will result in Kirby not taking damage at any point, so these food items should be ignored.
- The Final Cutter attack is very handy for clearing out large groups of enemies due to its great reach and shockwave at the end. This is particularly true in the fifth room against the Gold Waddle Dees.
- The Hammer move does massive damage, making it very useful against the bosses on this stage.
- Additionally, Smash Kick allows Kirby to pass through enemies unharmed, making it useful for crossing up mid-bosses.
- Both Hammer and Stone can be used to break metal blocks, while Final Cutter can be used to cutRopes.
- Enemies that drop into an abyss or wander off stage arenot counted as defeated. All of them need to be pummeled.
