Picking up a skull key will whisk you away to a special stage where the Skull Gang await you. Grab the treasure chest to make a quick escape. If you don't, you'll have to brave it out till the bitter end.
— Yours squeakily, Daroach inKirby Mass Attack Instruction Booklet

TheSkull Key is an item which can be found inKirby Mass Attack. It is akey with a special bone aesthetic to it. If one of the Kirbys picks it up, they will all be sent to an arena where theSkull Gang will attack them. One of the Skullys has aTreasure Chest, which the Skull Key will fit into. The Kirbys will need to defeat that Skully to get its chest and unlock it, ending the battle. Otherwise, the Skullys will vanish at dawn, taking the chest with them.

While holding the Skull Key, Kirby can be commanded as usual, but if he takes damage or is captured, he will drop the key, causing it to shatter.
