Sir Kibble
| ||||||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||||||
- This article is about the armor-clad Cutter enemy found in most games, and should not be confused with the similar-lookingLord Kibble fromKirby's Dream Land 2.
| “ | "Just like my blade, I keep coming back!" What's inside that armor? Classified! Just like his golden blade, this guy returns to the fight again and again. Pluckiness is the best armor of all!'' | ” | — Guest Star Sir Kibble Cutting in Style Pause Screen description inKirby Star Allies |
Sir Kibble (calledSirKibble inKirby Super Star andSirkibble inKirby's Dream Land 3 andKirby 64: The Crystal Shards) is a commonly recurringenemy throughout theKirby series that has appeared in every main-series title exceptKirby's Dream Land 2, with only scant representation in spin-off games. Sir Kibble himself has never possessed an incredibly major role in any specific game, only appearing as a basic enemy or as ahelper, most notably givingKirby theCutterCopy Ability when inhaled and swallowed. Sir Kibble's appearance is that of a round, spherical, metallic suit of armor that shrouds whatever may be inside in complete darkness. The top part of his helmet has a detachable curved blade which he uses to attack. When Sir Kibble guards, he closes his helmet.
Sir Kibble mainly attacks Kirby by taking the blade off his helmet and tossing it at him. It then returns to him, similarly to a boomerang. If Kirby happens to be above his eyesight, Sir Kibble will usually jump before throwing his blade. Sir Kibble is often the main representative of theCutter ability, and as such, serves as thehelper for that ability inKirby Super Star,Kirby Super Star Ultra, andKirby Star Allies.
A larger cousin to Sir Kibble calledKibble Blade serves as amid-boss in a number of games in the series. Kibble Blade and Sir Kibble share many similar characteristics, but Kibble Blade has more detailed armor and defaults to an iron gray color.

In theKirby novel series[edit]

In theKirby novel series, Sir Kibble appears as a secondary character inKirby and the Dangerous Gourmet Mansion?!. He is one of the three thieves who kidnapsMrs. Parfaitski, with the other two beingWheelie andWalky. Sir Kibble is the main spokesperson of the group, and is the second member to appear.
WhenKirby,King Dedede, andMeta Knight reach a cliff, they notice a suspension bridge connecting it to the other side of the shore. Sir Kibble cuts the bridge, and quickly reveals himself. He is described as an inhabitant ofDream Land who normally serves King Dedede, and his cutter is strong enough to cut even steel. Sir Kibble starts fighting with the three. Kirby quickly drops theWheel ability he had gained earlier and inhales Sir Kibble to obtain theCutter ability. Wheelie, who was now released, is forced to lead the three to the cave where Mrs. Parfaitski is held hostage. After they get there and meet Walky, Wheelie requests that Kirby releases Sir Kibble. Kirby drops the Cutter ability, restoring him, who is angered and hurt. After Wheelie calms Sir Kibble, the two explain that they kidnapped Mrs. Parfaitski because she was cruel to her chefs and locked them up due to her picky and unnecessary dissatisfaction with their food. Sir Kibble then leads them all to where an angry Mrs. Parfaitski is tied up. Kirby inhales Walky to gain theMike ability and sing an ear-splitting song, much to everyone's displeasure. This causes the cave to eventually collapse, and the group rushes out. Sir Kibble mutters that he thinks Kirby is the strongest in Dream Land, and later remarks that Walky was lucky to miss out on the song. With Mrs. Parfaitski finally giving in, the group returns to her mansion to free the locked away chefs.
Sir Kibble also makes a minor appearance inKirby: Uproar at the Kirby Café?!. He joins the staff of the Dedede Café, and is in charge of cutting fruits and cakes with his cutter.
Trivia[edit]
- What exactly is inside Sir Kibble's armor is amystery, which is played up by hisKirby Star Allies Guest Star description. HisSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U trophy description hints that he might just be an animated suit of armor, with nothing inside.
