- This article is about the select theme fromKirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, and should not be confused with the similarly-namedselect theme from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
"Select"[Japanese title] is the File Select theme fromKirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. It was composed byJun Ishikawa.[1]
Composition[edit]

"Select" is a short and generally high-pitched theme in G-flat (F-sharp) major and 4/4, lasting only four bars. The first two follow the same melodic pattern and do not venture outside the tonic, whereas the following two bars, led by a rising motif not unlike the one heard in "Vegetable Valley" and other tracks of the game, have a minor tone due to the use of a lowered leading tone. These two bars start high and gradually descend until reaching the initial pitch, at which point the track loops.
