"Ripple Field: Ocean Waves"[1] is a stage theme fromKirby's Dream Land 3 that was composed byJun Ishikawa.
Composition[edit]

"Ripple Field: Ocean Waves" is a moderately fast theme that is in the key of C major. It starts with a short drumbeat, then plays the first portion of the main melody, which appears to use the "call and response" technique. The "call" portion is played with a pan flute, while the "response" is played with a string section. It does this call and response twice, and then moves on to the second portion of the theme. The second portion is played with a trumpet, while it goes into a minor key for a short time. The main instrument then changes into a string section once again, and plays a high pitched melody (the theme is in a major key at this point). After the string section finishes its part, the bass of the song goes up three whole steps (Ab, Bb, then C), and the song then loops.
This theme has similarities to "Float Islands", "Sea Stage", "Aqua Star", and "Bountiful Star", other beach/water themes also composed by Jun Ishikawa.
