"Re: Green Greens"[2] is a theme fromKirby: Planet Robobot that plays in segments ofPatched Plains - Stage 2 andStage 3. It was arranged byHirokazu Ando[1] and is a variant of "Green Greens".
Composition[edit]

As implied by its name, "Re: Green Greens" is a reimagining of "Green Greens", set in the same key and meter (C major, 4/4). It begins with a short lively intro based on the second section of "Green Greens" in a straighter rhythm. After the key is properly set up, the main melody enters: a version of "Green Greens"' that drags out and ends on the F, similarly to "Stadium: Drag Race", first played by a sawtooth wave and repeated with added glockenspiel. The next portion continues the quotation of "Green Greens" with a guitar, preparing a resolution. However, it is instead followed up by a subdominant iteration of the same motif played by a smooth synth, then seconded by the electric guitar in the tonic. The first section is concluded by the guitar's variant of "Kirby's Triumphant Return"'s second section. The section repeats with instrumentation changes: the initial phrase is played by electric guitar, while the second references the original "Green Greens" with a more faithful chiptune quotation. Notably, the chiptune solo only lasts as long as the base "Green Greens", as the varied ending features electric guitar again. The remainder of the reprise is balanced out between piano and chiptune lead, and supporting electric guitar, with the previous tendency remaining.
The second section is based on the analogous section of "Green Greens", once again in a straight rhythm reminiscent of "Green Greens (Return to Dream Land)". This section switches between an oboe and the electric guitar, supported by a background riser. In conclusion of the section, a suspenseful dominant octave is played, followed by mechanical noises during the transition. After shortened and rhythmically shifted opening notes of the melody of "Green Greens", the track reaches its end and loops.

Trivia[edit]
- The name of this theme references the names given to most of the mid-bosses and bosses of theExtra Modes ofKirby: Planet Robobot in Japanese: they have an added "Re:" prefix to their names (for example, "Re: Whispy Borg"). In English, the names instead gain a "2.0" suffix (for example, "Clanky Woods 2.0").
