ThePopopo Islands are a series of large islands found far to the south onPopstar, away from the continent whereDream Land resides. It is the main setting ofKirby Mass Attack, and where Kirby goes on his adventure trying to restore himself after being split into 10 smaller copies byNecrodeus.

The Popopo Islands consist of four primary regions:

• Green Grounds - A lush green area reminiscent of those inDream Land.Whispy Woods resides here.
• Sandy Canyon - A desert realm dominated by cacti and quicksand.Lady Ivy resides here.
• Dedede Resort - A beach-combed area with lots of tropical vegetation, with a frozen tundra in the middle.King Dedede resides here.
• Volcano Valley - A nearly lifeless island dominated by magma and theSkull Gang, with a few space stages also featured.Skullord resides here.

While the Skull Gang patrols the skies between the islands, they will steal away all but one of the Kirbys whenever they try to travel between the islands. To prevent this, Kirby will need to defeatSkullord, which will break the gang's hold of the islands.

• The Popopo Islands are named after the original name planned for Kirby, before his name was finalized as such.
