This article is about the hazard inKirby's Dream Course. For environmental water in a more general context, seeWater (environment).

Pond[1] is a stage hazard inKirby's Dream Course. It refers to any body of water that may appear on a board, found at various sizes and with differing water color depending on the course being played. IfKirby falls into a pond, he will sink to the bottom, where the momentum of any future shots he makes from within will be drastically hampered. The best way to escape a pond is by using a flying shot to break out.

Under certain circumstances, it is possible to skip Kirby across a pond with the right angle and speed. Pressing A as Kirby hits the surface to bounce will also aid in this endeavor. Alternatively, ponds can be frozen solid using theFreezeCopy Ability, though this effect will wear off once the turn ends, meaning if Kirby is still on the ice, he will sink in as it melts. It is also possible to roll over the surface of a pond withWheel.Tornado cannot be used in a pond and will immediately stop upon entering one.

There is a switch that can be used to either drain or refill ponds, found in some boards. It changes color when pressed, indicating what it will do when pressed next (lighter color to drain, darker color to fill).
