ThePeople of the Sky are the flower-like beings native to the Kingdom ofFloralia. They debuted inKirby: Triple Deluxe, and one appears as asticker inKirby: Planet Robobot.

Physical appearance[edit]

The People of the Sky resemblefairies. They are distinguished by their leaf skirts and flower-like headdresses, which are styled after different types of flowers on each individual. All of them are capable of hovering about, much likeTaranza, and can use magic power to unlock certain gates, or carry large objects. Also like Taranza, they possess disembodied hands, and no feet.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

Prior to the events ofKirby: Triple Deluxe, the People of the Sky lived peacefully alongsideQueen Sectonia andTaranza. When Sectonia became obsessed with power, however, the people were oppressed by her tyranny. As a last resort, the people devised theDreamstalk seed and sent it tumbling down toDream Land to call onKirby to save them. The queen imprisons them in honeycomb cages withinRoyal Road and orders Taranza to capture the "hero", leadingKing Dedede to get kidnapped and Kirby to give chase.

DuringRoyal Road - Stage 5, Kirby (or King Dedede, inDededetour) rescues a multitude of caged People of the Sky; specifically, one that opens a small gate, five that open a bigger gate, and a handful of "generic" ones who provide3D Warp Stars. The appearances of the People of the Sky are as follows:

  • A pink one, whose headdress resembles a petunia, and is always the first one saved.
  • A purple one, whose headdress covers their eyes and resembles a tulip.
  • A blue one, whose headdress resembles a hibiscus.
  • A yellow one, whose headdress resembles a sunflower.
  • A red one, whose headdress covers one of their eyes and resembles an amaryllis.
  • A white one, whose headdress resembles a lily, and is always the last one saved.
  • The generic ones have yellow-pink headdresses that resemble simple buds.

The People of the Sky then aid Kirby and Dedede during the battle withFlowered Sectonia by bringing them aCannon to use against her. After she is defeated, the People of the Sky catch Kirby when he is flung off of the Dreamstalk and carry him back to safety (while Taranza carries Dedede). They also carryhis house andCastle Dedede back to their proper places in Dream Land.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]

InKirby: Planet Robobot, a portrait of one of the People of the Sky appears as asticker. They are also mentioned in theSpecial Pages of both versions ofHolo-Coily Rattler; in particular, the Holo-Coily Rattler 2.0 description states that the mechanization caused by theHaltmann Works Company did not affect them due to Floralia's remote location.
