Past Adventures

Past Adventures[1][2][3] (originally known asOther Games[4][5][6] and sometimes calledPast Games[7]) is a menu feature present in severalKirby titles, existing for players to learn more about previous titles in the series. The menu first appeared in theNintendo 3DSKirby games and has re-appeared in some form or another in almost every subsequent game since, with the exceptions ofKirby Star Allies,Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn andKirby Air Riders.
History[edit]
The first iteration of the menu first appeared inDedede's Drum Dash Deluxe andKirby Fighters Deluxe with a button labelled "eShop" (American English) or "Triple Deluxe" (British English) in those games' Options menus. Selecting it would, after a yes or no prompt, redirect players to theKirby: Triple Deluxe eShop page, where they can learn more about the game and potentially make a purchase. The music that accompanies the prompt is "Hypernova Inhale" instead of "Sun, Sky, Dreamstalk" in later games' Past Adventures menus.
A more robust version of the menu was established inKirby: Planet Robobot under the nameOther Games and accessed from the Options menu. Here, the previous threeKirby games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems (Kirby: Triple Deluxe,Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe andKirby Fighters Deluxe) could be chosen by the player to take them to that game's respective eShop page. Starting withPlanet Robobot, highlighting each of the other game icons would also play back that respective title's main theme or title screen theme for the game in question. In this game exclusively, each game's title scren theme could also be listened to freely in theJukebox.
The fundamentals remained unchanged with this menu's subsequent re-appearance in almost every game up untilKirby Fighters 2's release. More previously-released games would be added over time and the ability to purchase prior titles on the same system via Nintendo eShop was kept intact. Starting withSuper Kirby Clash, every previously-released game beginning fromTriple Deluxe—even if the game wasn't released in certain regions—would be given an entry on the Other Games menu, though selecting the 3DS and/or Wii U entries would only reveal a brief descriptor for the game in question.
Beginning withKirby and the Forgotten Land, the menu was now namedPast Adventures, and the ability to go directly to the Nintendo eShop to make game purchases was removed. In that game, the menu is accessed viaKirby's House by selecting the book on the table. InKirby's Dream Buffet, the Past Adventures menu is accessed on the Home Table in the same place where one would access thestaff credits. InKirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, the Past Adventures menu is accessed on the Main Mode menu. InKirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, the menu is accessed in the same manner as the original Nintendo Switch version, and has been updated to include entries on bothKirby's Dream Buffet andKirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
PastKirby: Planet Robobot, the music associated with Past Adventures is not included in theJukebox of the games that feature is available in, and said music has never been included in any official soundtrack releases.
