Outer Rings

Outer Rings is the last stage (second extra stage) ofSpace Land inKirby's Epic Yarn andKirby's Extra Epic Yarn, unlocked by clearingMoon Base and obtaining theShooting Star Patch. The stage is an extendedRocketMetamortex section ending in a fight withSpace Kracko.
Patch animation[edit]
Tossing the patch causes a shooting star to appear in the vicinity of a planet with an alien on top using a hula-hoop. The star flies at the alien, knocking it off-kilter and causing its hoop to fall and enlarge, becoming rings for the planet as the alien falls off of it. After this, the door opens.
Overview[edit]
The stage begins with Kirby transforming into aRocket using theMetamortex. From here, it's a long flight upward as Kirby will need to shoot down many asteroids and enemies which vie to get in the way. It starts with a wave of asteroids, then leads into anOrbitfly armada, then theUFOs come out in groups, and then tops off with all three of these things thrown in at once along with someSpore Jellies. Once these waves are cleared, Kirby will then need to contend with a particularly angrySpace Kracko at the top. Space Kracko attacks by swooping, shooting asteroids and firing its rotary beam. It takes a great deal of sustained fire to defeat, becoming gradually smaller until it is destroyed. From here, theReel Gate can be accessed up top to end the stage.
