NESP (referred to in internal game data asEsper) is a floatingenemy that debuts inKirby: Planet Robobot, and provides theESP ability when swallowed. He somewhat resemblesMagolor in physique, bearing a small body and two disembodied hands. He wears a black hood with a psychic eye insignia on it and attacks by sending an oscillating wave of energy in Kirby's direction. NESP will also occasionally teleport about, with this being his only form of movement as an enemy.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]
NESP returns inKirby Star Allies as aFriend, as well as an enemy. He provides the ESP ability like before. Unlike most other allies, NESP is capable of hovering without resorting to anInfinity Jump. Once made into a friend, it may appear at first that NESP does not wear a Kirby-style hat. However, the rim of the hat can be seen underneath NESP's hood.

Trivia[edit]
- Despite floating above the ground, NESP still makes footstep sounds when 'walking'.
- NESP is one of the few allies who can vocalize. He does this when using PK Insight, though this shout is exactly the same asKirby's.
- NESP's name is likely a reference toNess, the protagonist ofEarthBound who also has psychic powers. Additionally, Kirby wears a hat similar to Ness's when he has the ESP ability. Friend variants of NESP also gain this same hat under their hood.
