— VS Mr. Dooter Special Page inKirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe

Mr. Dooter (parsedMr Dooter in the British English Wii version) is the boss ofRaisin Ruins inKirby's Return to Dream Land. He resembles a cross between a magician and a genie and his attacks are characterized in the style of a magician or street performer. He guards theLor Starcutter's Right Wing.

Appearance[edit]

Mr. Dooter's body is vaguely bowling-pin shaped, with a light blue complexion to his skin. His face consists only of two eyes, and he has no feet or arms, sporting disembodied gloves reminiscent ofMagolor's physique. He wears a turban which sports a feather and a gem inset on the front, and his main dress is what could only be described as 'regal djinni wear', with a gold accent and a red vest.

When his health is half-depleted, Dooter will cast a spell upon himself to increase his size, then will open up with more aggressive attacks.

InExtra Mode, Mr. Dooter has red skin with a blue-feathered turban and a black vest. Most notably, he is also sporting a mustache.

Attacks[edit]

Mr. Dooter in Extra Mode.

The following lists all of Mr. Dooter's attacks in the Story Mode ofKirby's Return to Dream Land.

Attacks - Story Mode
AttackDescription
マジックアイテム投げ
Magic Item Throw
Mr. Dooter juggles three objects for a moment, while hopping forward. After a short time, he will levitate these objects and attempt to throw them at Kirby. Depending on the object, it can be deflected while levitating, or inhaled while it is being thrown. Objects include Dooter Skulls and blue bombs. Bombs can be swallowed to grant theBomb Copy Ability. Sometimes, Mr. Dooter will mix up the objects, throwing several different types at a time. In the second phase, Mr. Dooter conjures larger objects and may also throwGordos into the mix. In the second phase exclusively, if Mr. Dooter juggles three bombs, he then quickly levitates them in a line in front of him, dropping them down shortly after. Across both phases, while Mr. Dooter is juggling objects, Kirby can get rid of them early if he uses a Super Inhale or attacks them. In the event that Kirby preemptively destroys and/or inhales all of the objects Mr. Dooter is juggling before throwing them, then he will seamlessly switch to performing Bound Movement.
トルネイド攻撃
Tornado Attack
Mr. Dooter spins himself into a tornado and moves about the room in a style reminiscent of Kirby'sTornado ability. He will hover in the air and attempt to target and land on Kirby, producing stars as he does so. In the second phase, this attack will touch down several times before finishing in a stomp.
バウンド移動
Bound Movement
Mr. Dooter performs a series of three jumps across the stage, the last one ending in a stomp that produces stars.
ハットマジック
Hat Magic
Mr. Dooter pulls his turban off, and commands two, three, four or five Red Snakes out of it to attack Kirby, which can be spat back at him. In the second phase, he can summon threeBabuts instead.
Second phase only
天空バウンド
Sky Bound
Mr. Dooter charges up and jumps high into the air in a tornado spin. He then attempts to stomp down at rapid speed, jumping up again after the attack. He jumps and stomps down three times in a row the first time this attack is used. Every other time, he jumps and stomps down five times.
ロケットパンチ
Rocket Punch
Mr. Dooter performs a big jump. After landing, he steps forward and performs a series of three punches straight forward, each one making more distance. Occasionally, he may finish with one more punch that covers great distance.
Attack names listed are from official Japanese strategy guides.

In phase 1, Mr. Dooter attacks in a fixed order on loop as follows:

  1. Magic Item Throw [3 Dooter Skulls]

Role in Merry Magoland[edit]

Mr. Dooter makes a good show.

By completing his boss battle inKirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Mr. Dooter will appear inMerry Magoland to perform ball juggling for an audience ofWaddle Dees. Additionally, unlockableDress-Up Masks based on his regular and EX forms can be worn, provided the player has already defeated him in Story Mode and Extra Mode respectively.

Trivia[edit]

  • Mr. Dooter's “Hat Magic” attack is a reference to a well-known Japanese comedian named Shopan Igari. He was famous for dressing in an Arabian outfit and saying "Red Snake, come on!", after which a red snake puppet would appear in front of him. For Mr. Dooter's attack, he pulls red snakes out of his turban. The enemy is even officially named Red Snake (レッドスネーク).
    • The same comedian also had yellow and green snakes in his arsenal, which are referenced by Mr. Dooter's alternate forms: Mr. Dooter EX has Yellow Snakes (イエロースネーク), whileElectricky Dooter has Green Snakes (グリーンスネーク).
