Later on, when Tiff shows everyone the real culprit for the dumping, Mayor Len becomes apprehensive at the thought of trying to confront the alien saucer responsible, fearing the aliens might just decide to destroy them. He and the townsfolk once again argue about what they should do, and ultimately end up with no plan except to try and clean up the garbage on their own. Though he is determined to win the race, he is forced to stall on several occasions at the request of his wife Hana, first to clean up some caltrops that King Dedede dropped on the road to trip up the racers, and then again to get an extensive lunch for her husband while they are in pit stop, holding up preparations a bit. Despite all of these delays, Mayor Len is able to catch up and eventually win the race by catching the draft created byWheel Kirby. At the award ceremony, Mayor Len reveals to Hana that he had not in fact forgotten about their anniversary, and wanted to win the race to specifically offer the trophy to her. | "You and I were married forty years ago today.
