Light 'Em Up! Lantern Switches (Volcano Fire Treasure for short) is a stage inTreasure Road, found inEverbay Coast. This stage tasksKirby with completing a challenge revolving around the use ofVolcano Fire, making use of its ability to lightLantern Switches. The stage is unlocked after completingFast-Flowing Waterworks. Since it makes use of Volcano Fire, Kirby cannot play this stage unless he has that ability unlocked. The stage is marked by two stars of difficulty and has a stage time of two and a half minutes (two minutes in Wild Mode), with a target time of one minute.
Stage details[edit]
This stage can be broken down into five distinct challenges before reaching theRare Stone at the end. For the first, Kirby needs to merely light a Lantern Switch. For the second, Kirby needs to light two lanterns with aHot Head in-between them. For the third, Kirby needs to light three lanterns with a Hot Head out in front and aGordo Bar moving back and forth in front of the lanterns. For the fourth, Kirby needs to light four lanterns while dodgingShotzo fire. For the last, Kirby needs to light eight lanterns while avoiding a spinning Gordo Bar in the middle of the platform. From there, two Hot Heads guard the Rare Stone.
Tips[edit]
The following are tips on how to attain the target time for this stage:
- Most of the Hot Heads can be ignored if Kirby is moving quickly enough, but the one on the third platform should probably be dealt with.
- In the last lantern-lighting area, Kirby should try to find an optimal path to light each lantern as quickly as possible. Ping-ponging back and forth between each one is probably not the best strategy.
- Kirby should refrain from using the Burn attack as much as possible. Most of the lanterns are situated over spikes and in a direction other than where Kirby should be going towards.
