"Kirby's Pad" is a peaceful theme in C major and 3/4. It is made to sound like a music box, which adds to its delicate character. It has a basic arpeggiaed triad accompaniment. Its general melodic structure somewhat resembles "Splash Beach". The first phrase slowly alternates between neighboring notes, with the first beat consistently omitted. The second phrase features a rising passage, playing twice to form full harmonic structures. The nature of this phrase and its functions are reminiscent of "Kirby Dance".
A variation of the first section plays after this, with its phrases being extended, now covering some of the first beats and sounding closer to the related "Quilty Court". A transitional section based on these intonations is added. Here, harmonic subdominant is added. The second section also repeats with some changes. It slows down and reaches a suspense at the end before looping.
