- This article is about Kirby's house inDream Land. For Kirby's apartment room inKirby's Epic Yarn, seeKirby's Pad.
| “ | Gosh, Kirby. Your house sure is round...almost as round as you are! | ” | — Elfilin inKirby and the Forgotten Land |
Kirby's house is a location inDream Land. As the name implies, it isKirby's place of residence, and where he goes to sleep at night. It was first seen in full in the manual forKirby's Dream Course and has since made several appearances in the game series, mostly minor ones. It also appears more prominently in the animeKirby: Right Back at Ya!.
Description[edit]
Kirby's house is a fairly small white dome-shaped hovel, consisting only of a single room topped with a chimney, one window, and a door. The window has no glass in it (instead only consisting of a wooden frame) and the dome itself appears to be made out of stone or clay. Outside the house is a small sign with some stars on it, which presumably mark the building as Kirby's. Inside the house, there is not much in the way of furniture or other belongings. The only notable furnishings are a bed, a fireplace, and achabudai (a kind of Japanese tea table). Despite having this home, Kirby is content to have meals and nap wherever he pleases outside, at least during the day; when he sleeps in his bed, he usually wears his greenSleeping cap.
Kirby's house was first detailed in concept art forKirby's Adventure,[1] though it was not seen from the outside untilKirby's Dream Course. According to an official Japanese profile written to tie in withKirby 64: The Crystal Shards, the house was built for Kirby by the residents of Dream Land after he recovered their stolen food fromKing Dedede inKirby's Dream Land.[2] In the official Japanese guidebook forKirby's Dream Land 3, it is stated thatGooey also lives in Kirby's house.[3]
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Adventure /Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]

Kirby is seen waking from his bed in his house in the manual forKirby's Adventure, but his house is never seen from the outside. In both the original game andKirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, this scene is also shown as an illustration accompanying the title screen prologue.
InKirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, Kirby's house is shown directly as another illustration in the prologue.
Kirby's Dream Course[edit]

Kirby's house appears in the game's manual and in the Japanese-exclusive opening cutscene. Its basic design was established here, and has remained relatively unchanged since.
Kirby Super Star /Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

Kirby's Star Stacker (Game Boy)[edit]
Kirby's house appears in the opening scene ofKirby's Star Stacker, with smoke coming out of its chimney. Kirby emerges from behind his house riding on a Warp Star before leading to the title screen proper.
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble[edit]

At the very end of the game, Kirby can be seen waving from his house's window. When playing in the normal mode, it is on this screen where the player is informed on whether or not they can play theExtra Stage if they collected all 32Red Stars beforehand.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]
Kirby's house appears at several points in the introductory cutscene. It is lifted into the air by theDreamstalk once it starts growing, prompting Kirby to begin his adventure intoFloralia. AfterQueen Sectonia is defeated, four members of thePeople of the Sky are seen carrying Kirby's house with vines. At the end of the normal credits sequence, it is shown to be back on ground level. It can also seen in the background at the end of theDededetour credits sequence.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land[edit]

A replica of Kirby's house appears inWaddle Dee Town inKirby and the Forgotten Land. It requires 50 rescuedWaddle Dees to build. This is the first time the interior of the house can be fully explored in a game, and what is seen of it largely matches its appearance inKirby: Triple Deluxe. As Kirby progresses through the game, up to ten photos commemorating his achievements will appear on the walls which can be viewed, and the house can be decorated using up to threefigures collected from capsules in stages and in theGotcha Machine Alley.
Using the bed, Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee can recover all of theirhealth, and a book beside a small cup can be found on a table which contains information aboutpreviousKirby games. Lastly, the fireplace can be lit using aFire-based ability, awarding 10 Star Coins once per game load, and the house can be entered through the chimney if Kirby jumps on top of it.
When visiting the house, the theme "Welcome Back, Kirby" plays, an arrangement of "Green Greens". In addition,Elfilin stays to the right corner of the house and can be talked to for some extra dialogue.

In theNintendo Switch 2 Edition ofKirby and the Forgotten Land,Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, Kirby's House reprises its role with some additions:
- Kirby's House receives a proper figure, as well as the bed found in the form of the "Nap Time" and "Group Nap Time" figures;
- After finishingStar-Crossed World, other than "Welcome Back, Kirby", there is a chance that "Welcome Home, Hero" will play instead;
- After fully completing the exclusive content ofKirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, talking to Elfilin multiple times will trigger brand new dialogue from him.

InKirby: Right Back at Ya![edit]

Inthe anime series, the residents ofCappy Town build Kirby a home to give him a permanent place to stay inDream Land (and so he doesn't have to live with any of them). Kirby ends up sharing this home withTokkori, who often takes control of the place, prompting Kirby to sleep in the nearby tree instead. Kirby's home is frequently destroyed during the show, but is always rebuilt in time for the next calamity.
In the anime, Kirby's house is reasonably furnished compared to the game series. It has drawers, lights, carpets and a television set.
- Kirby sitting on his bed inside his house
- Kirby's house being blown away whenDyna Blade passes through
- King Dedede spying on Kirby by putting up lights and a filming crew around his house
- Kirby standing atop his house at the end of an episode
- Kirby and Tokkori watching television inside the house
- Mabel approaching Kirby at his house to recruit him for a task
- King Dedede's extreme conveyor-belt sushi crashing through Kirby's house

- Kirby and the Forgotten Land suggests that the entire design of the house was flipped; it is reversed from the original concept art, presumably to keep the bed aligned with the window.
- In the opening cutscene forKirby: Triple Deluxe, the fireplace in Kirby's house doesn't appear to be aligned with the position of the chimney.
