This article is about the boss stage inKirby's Epic Yarn andKirby's Extra Epic Yarn. For the character in a general context, seeKing Dedede.

King Dedede is the boss stage ofSnow Land, and is unlocked after using theDiamond Dust Patch obtained fromFrosty Wheel. As the title implies,King Dedede is fought here. Completing this stage is required to gain access toSpace Land, and obtaining a high bead score is necessary to obtain thePenguin Patch and accessFrigid Fjords.

Patch animation[edit]

Upon throwing the patch, a sparkle appears in the air which takes the remaining yarn from the snowman's base and uses it to stitch together an aurora. The remainder of the yarn forms a smaller snowman in a coat, above which the door to King Dedede opens.

Battle[edit]

King Dedede appears and the puppet string knocks him down, then takes control of him. He moves a little bit to get ready for the battle andKirby andPrince Fluff panics. They have to fight him with the strings. King Dedede uses his hammer to attack them and yarn stars are dropped on the floor. The only way to attack him is to use aWeight attack or throw yarn balls at his face. Once King Dedede has been defeated, Kirby and Prince Fluff can get the next piece ofMagic Yarn to go to the next level,Space Land. Also, when Kirby gets enoughbeads during the king's battle, he might get thePenguin Patch to unlockFrigid Fjords.

InDevilish Mode,Me-Devil also appears to attack Kirby during the entirety of the boss battle.
