"History of Dedede"[2] is a musical piece composed byHirokazu Ando which first appears inKirby Fighters Deluxe. It is a remixed medley of different versions of "King Dedede's Theme" and other musical themes associated withKing Dedede throughout the history of theKirby series, hence its name, which was originally given by the developers during aMiiverse thread.[3]
Composition[edit]
This medley consists of retro arrangements of the following themes playing in order:
- Intro of "Masked Dedede's Theme";
- "King Dedede's Theme" fromKirby's Dream Land;
- "Boss" fromKirby's Adventure;
- "Vs. Robo Dedede" fromKirby's Dream Course;
- "Masked Dedede's Theme" in full (only this section continuously loops during gameplay).
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby Fighters Deluxe[edit]
During the final battle withTeam DDD on the Very Hard difficulty inKirby Fighters Deluxe, after defeating all the Mini Dededes, the "History of Dedede" medley appears with the remaining opponents:King Dedede himself and 2 orange Combo Dededes.
Due to the absence of aJukebox, the medley can't be found elsewhere inKirby Fighters Deluxe.
Kirby Star Allies[edit]
InKirby Star Allies, "History of Dedede" replaces "Macho of Dedede" whenKing Dedede is fought duringThe Ultimate Choice on the Soul Melter difficulty. The music change also occurs when fightingParallel Dedede's first phase in Soul Melter EX.
"History of Dedede" can be found as Track 203 in theKirby Star AlliesJukebox as of Version 4.0.0.
