Tilt down and jump as high as you can!
— High Jump Stadium description fromKirby Air Riders

High Jump is aStadium mode inKirby Air Ride andKirby Air Riders, having a chance to appear at the end ofCity Trial on default settings. It tasks riders to jump or fly as high as possible.

Overview[edit]

The farther you can fly, the better you'll do...
— Stadium Prediction forHigh Jump inKirby Air Ride

High Jump begins on a runway, with someDash Panels at the end right before a ramp. Once contestants leave the ramp, their height will start to be measured (in feet or meters depending on the player's regional version or settings). As they fly higher, they will pass through several floors made of different materials, meant to serve as markers. Once the maximum height is attained, the contestant's flight will end once they land on one of these floors. InKirby Air Ride only, contestants are given two tries to make their jump, with the higher of the two scores kept.

Naturally,Air Ride Machines with good flight capabilities (such as theWinged Star, thePaper Star, or theDragoon) are preferred for this mode, but wheeled machines with high jumping capability can also do very well here. More important still is how the machine waspatched before entering the stadium. As a final consideration, it may actually be a better idea to let the control stick go for some machines, instead of tilting like the title card says to.

Trivia[edit]

  • InKirby Air Ride, although the stadium stretches further, the height meter will roll over once it hits 9999 feet or meters. If this happens, the final score will still be tallied as 9999.
