Hatched Chick (originally known asCrack-Tweet) is a rare enemy which is only known to appear inKirby's Dream Land 2 andKirby's Block Ball. It resembles a small, yellow chick not unlikeTwizzy, which possesses a red beak and feet, as well as three strands of hair on its head. It is initially found in a white egg with a horizontal crack running through it. When hatched, Hatched Chick can also be distinguished from Twizzy in that Hatched Chick has a proportionally smaller head and more frizzy appearance.

While inside the egg, Hatched Chick does nothing but make small hops. If it falls a certain distance orKirby attacks it in this state, the egg breaks, causing the chick to hatch from it. The shell may also be removed by inhaling it. Outside of it, the bird is able to make small jumps, as well as flap its wings to slow down its fall and attempt to fly over obstacles it runs into. Exposed, a Hatched Chick can be defeated instantly by any attack.
