Grumples is an obscureenemy fromKirby's Dream Land andKirby Super Star Ultra. It vaguely resemblesKabu, but has a meaner face and a different shape. Grumples floats and, like Kabu, can vanish and later reappear out of nowhere. It can be inhaled by Kirby, but grants noCopy Ability when swallowed. Grumples is similar in look and color to Kabu, though its face is notably more dour (hence the name Grumples, similar to the word 'grumpy'). Grumples also has more angular features, with its head tapering into a point in its artwork and inKirby Super Star Ultra.

Grumples acts similar to Kabu, rolling along the floor and phasing in and out of sight to appear somewhere else. Despite the altered look, Grumples is not much faster than Kabu, nor does it have any moredurability.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Dream Land[edit]

Grumples first appears inKirby's Dream Land, appearing in theExtra Game ofFloat Islands and replacingKabu. It acts much the same as Kabu, but deals two points of damage instead of just one. Grumples is worth 400 points when defeated.

Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

InKirby Super Star Ultra, Grumples appears inRevenge of the King, in theIllusion Islands andCrash Clouds stages. It has all of the same abilities as Kabu, and moves much more erratically, able to float around and fall very quickly. Grumples does not appear in the originalKirby Super Star.
