Grape Garden (also referred to asGrape Gardens[1]) is the fourth level ofKirby's Adventure and its remake,Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. It features seven primary stages, and themuseum has theSleep andBallcopy abilities. The mid-boss in the Arena isBugzzy, and the boss isKracko, who starts out asKracko Jr..

Intro cutscene[edit]

Before entering the hub for the first time, a brief cutscene plays adorned in a green frame with the level's name overhead in the scene. The intro cutscene showsKirby holding on to three balloons while hopping along, his descent slowed by the balloons. Suddenly, one breaks from his grasp, and he foolishly jumps to it, letting go of the other two. Barely holding on on the last one, he finally lets go, and face-plants onto the fluff below.

Overview[edit]

Grape Garden is dominated by cloud-scapes and large palaces situated therein, thus featuring many open spaces as well as interior cramped ones. As Kirby travels through this area, he will also encounter flotillas of blimps powered by propellers. Enemies become much more common in this level than previous ones, often forming blockades that need to be dealt with.Scarfies are particularly common, and can become rather stubborn obstacles.

Grape Garden also features longer stages than Butter Building, making it one of the truly lengthy levels in the game.

Hub[edit]

The Grape Garden hub is a larger area generally than the hubs preceding it, combining some of the verticality of Butter Building's hub with the wide berth of the previous ones. Pressing the Big Switch in Stage 1 unlocks the first sub-game (Crane Fever inKirby's Adventure andBomb Rally inKirby: Nightmare in Dream Land). Clearing Stage 2 unlocks the second sub-game (Quick Draw inKirby's Adventure,Quick Draw inKirby: Nightmare in Dream Land). Pressing the Big Switch in Stage 3 unlocks the Museum, which contains theSleep andBall abilities. Clearing Stage 3 unlocks theArena which pits Kirby againstBugzzy. Finally, pressing the Big Switch in Stage 6 unlocks thewarp room.

The hub opens up to reveal a large cloudy fresco with palaces situated within. Each of the doors can be found in a palace tower, or on an isolated platform.

Stages[edit]

Each stage is unlocked in succession after clearing the previous one. Clearing Stage 7 is necessary to move on toYogurt Yard. For more information about a particular stage, click on the link to the stage's page in the table.
