Have you ridden the turtle-like Gondolus? It will carry you along a river of sand.
— Daroach, inKirby Mass Attack

Gondolus is a large mechanicalenemy inKirby Mass Attack. It resembles a giant tortoise-like creature made of stone, with its head wearing headphones. When theKirbys encounter it inSandy Canyon - Stage 4, it eats the door forward, forcing the Kirbys to smash open its "shell" to get inside the creature and use the door it swallowed. This can be done by attacking enemies or latching onto objects and then slamming them into Gondolus' shell, which would temporary stun it. Its "shell" has three layers to it; in order to destroy a layer, three small objects or one large object (such as a hue turnip) need to be slammed on top of it to break it. The Kirbys also damage its shell the moment they land on it after being launched by a cannon. Should the Kirbys fail to destroy Gondolus' shell in time, it will swim right off the edge of the sand into abottomless pit, taking the Kirbys with it.

Gondolus' name comes from the traditional Venetian rowing boat "gondola".

Miscellaneous flavor text[edit]

  • "If you ride the Gondolus down the river of sand, you'll see a chest beyond a breakable slab of brown stone. You'll need to bring lots of Kirbys along to break the slab fast enough. Fast enough to then do what? That I don't know." --Daroach, inKirby Mass Attack
  • "Riding the Gondolus down the river of sand has a fairly, let's say, FINAL end. But if you hang on, you'll see one last flock of Soarars. Get what you want from them. And then get OUT before it's too late." --Daroach, inKirby Mass Attack
