TheGirl blob^[1] is a female counterpart toGooey, appearing only in the western version ofKirby's Dream Land 2. She is colored pink and wears a black ribbon to distinguish her from Gooey. There is a 1/8 chance that she will replace Gooey as the friend thatKirby can rescue from amid-boss if he is already with theAnimal Friend he would otherwise have obtained. Finding her counts towards100% completion of the game.

In the original Japanese version ofKirby's Dream Land 2, the Girl blob's role is filled byChao, a human girl making a cameo from the Family Computer Disk System gameYūyūki. This character would later appear as one of theHeart Star friends inKirby's Dream Land 3, where she is seen in the western release as well.
