Ghost Grounds is the first stage ofArange Gorge inKirby: Canvas Curse. The stage sees Kirby traveling through large, moss-covered trees in a dark and dreary graveyard, all drawn in apointillist style.

Stage overview[edit]

Area / mapDescriptionMedal guide

Area 1
The first area sets the mood for the latter stages, and little is changed. The background seems to be showing a graveyard or a generic dark wasteland. The main new interactive objects here are bubbles. Several spots have constant streams of bubbles, slightly larger than Kirby rising up. Kirby can ride these to the top of the levels. Between the large open areas, a small network of cannons can be found, although their use is optional.

Most of thepoint stars are found close to the ground. This area later appears as the Line Trial challenge ofRainbow Run.

The first medal can be found in the upper-right corner of this whole area. It is quartered off by blocks that can only be broken using theBurning ability.

Area 2
The most noticeable oddity of this area, is that Kirby starts near the center of the map (vertically). Unless the first cannon is bypassed, Kirby will be fired upwards and miss the rewards below. This stage seems to take place in a network of earthen tunnels. ASparky can be found between several one-way ledges. After getting theSpark copy ability, the blocks with lightning symbols on them can be destroyed. The spark blocks lead to a hoard of point stars. The second medal can be found at the very top of this area. Kirby will need to make sure to avoid the initial door forward on the left hand side, and instead aim for the upper-right corner. To get this medal, he will need to use theSpark ability to bust the spark-weak blocks in the way.

Area 3
Earthen walls, floors, and ceilings repeat the tunnel feel of Area 2. By getting the burning ability from theBobo, Kirby can bypass a large section of spiked floors and ceilings, even though a contact activated cannon would fire him safely past them and through themetal blocks. The area beyond is more travel among the tunnels. Close to the end of the stage, more cannons can be found to toss Kirby to higher ground. The final task is to destroy enoughstar blocks to descend to the goal door. Between each row of blocks,Bronto Burts are fluttering and will damage Kirby if not stunned before dropping in.

This area later appears as the Time Trial challenge of Rainbow Run.

The last medal can be found in the lower-left portion of this area. It cannot be accessed until theBig Switch inRift Ruin is pressed.
