Gate Core

Gate Core[Japanese title] is a cannon-laden obstacle fromKirby's Epic Yarn andKirby's Extra Epic Yarn. It can be found in three places in theMoon Base stage ofSpace Land. The space reactor is a machine with two or more re-directing cannons and a core on a wire which moves back and forth. Kirby can attack the core using theTankbot transformation to destroy it, though it takes four missile hits to defeat (with a short amount of post-hit invulnerability after each one). When hit the first time, the core will open up to show its core crystal, and each subsequent hit changes the crystal's color before it is destroyed.
Gate Core is one of the few significantenemies in the game which does not have an entry in the Cast menu fromPatch Plaza. As such, it does not have an official name in-game. It is instead named only in Japanese strategy guides.
