TheGame Boy is an 8-bit portable handheld console byNintendo, and originally released in Japan on April 21, 1989, in North America on July 31, 1989, and in Europe on September 28, 1990. The handheld would be discontinued in 2003. It would be succeeded by theGame Boy Color. FiveKirby games were released for the Game Boy, with one of those games being the first game in theseries.

InKirby's Dream Land 3, whenCloudy Park has been cleared ofDark Matter's influence and Kirby revisitsAdo, she can be seen painting a number of things. One of these objects is a pink Game Boy.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]

InKirby: Planet Robobot, the Remote Controller of theRemocoroid is heavily based on a Game Boy.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

In theExtra Planet δ stage ofKirby Star Allies, the formation of platforms that appears just before the monochrome area is meant to resemble a Game Boy.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

TheDream Land GB stage introduced inSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS takes place inside a Game Boy.
